Can GABA Oolong cure a hangover?. GABA oolong is one of our favourite and most popular teas. It is made by placing the leaves in Nitrogen/Oxygen depleted chambers during the 'oxidation' phase of production.
GABA exists naturally in the body and is a neurotransmitter which has many beneficial effects on stress and mental strength.
The discussion over whether or not GABA can cross the blood-brain barrier is ongoing. Traditional science claims that it does not but more and more scientists are rethinking this assumption.
People who suffer from 'leaky brain' probably allow GABA through the blood-brain barrier and it is thought that since GABA tea is created using a nitrogen rich environment the nitrogen may assist in the transportation of GABA into the brain. GABA may have a beneficial health affect even if it does not pass into the brain but is absorbed by the digestive system and affects the CNS outside of the brain.
We are working to find out more but in the meantime, find out if you are one of MANY who swear that GABA tea helps them to relax and improve their mental abilities OR drink it because it is delicious!
